Marcello Dolce
Marcello is a senior at the University of Southern California’s Roski School of Fine Arts, exploring his interests in sculpture, installation, and new media. In 2011 he was a recipient of the Dean’s Recognition Award and received a scholarship for his achievements that year. That summer, Marcello joined the “Endangered White” team, attracted to the project for the potentials of making a global difference, as Albinos are a community who are not truly understood. The tragic mutilations of these people in Tanzania only furthered Marcello’s involvement and hope to bring these issues to light and to an end. Marcello helped to realize Endangered White’s first fundraiser, contributing his design, computer, and construction abilities. Marcello enjoys learning and experimenting with new technologies and incorporating them into his art, such as 3D software programs, laser cutters and 3D printers. Prior to studying fine arts at USC, Marcello attended the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) for two years where he was immersed in the discipline of architecture. This architectural foundation is very influential to his art making as he still very much has a passion for architecture. Marcello hopes to pursue a career in Art Direction for film or television, as it is an area that includes his passions for architecture and art. Upon graduating from USC Marcello hopes to apply to graduate school for film.
